Establishment
SAPA YOPA is a motorcycle club. It is based in South Africa, in Limpopo. SAPA YOPA Motorcycle Club was established in 2008. It officially launched in 2009, in Polokwane, Limpopo by bikers from Polokwane, Makhado, Tzaneen and Mokopane. The club officially launched in 2009 with only 10 bikers. Sarel Nong is the president and the vice was Johz Mamabolo.
Together with all Executive committee members and the bikers; the club was taken to new heights with about 120 members currently; throughout Limpopo and in the diaspora.The club also have Generals in all districts of Limpopo Province.
Motto & Meaning
The motto of the club is "Live the Dream". Nicknames, MaSapa, Mazafioz, Top7 and Mapara a Limpopo. The meaning of SAPA YOPA is derived from two "kasi" slang word "Sapa -meaning something superb and" Yopa" meaning " a good feeling, - a pleasant mood. The club has since grown to include members from surrounding provinces in South Africa.
Purpose
SAPA YOPA is a social and charity oriented group of people that love to ride Motorcycles and enjoy scenic view of a beautiful continent that Africa is. The club is build on brotherhood as this bikers show others the utmost respect among themselves and other road users.
Club Membership
To join the Sapa Yopa club one needs to be in a possession of a bike of an engine capacity of 600cc or more, be twenty one (21) years of age and be in a possession of a motorcycle licence.
Events
The club has two major annual events namely 1. SAPA YOPA charity run and 2. SAPA YOPA Rally. The members regularly run monthly club charities and prayers. Other rides and events during the year are also enjoyed.
SAPA YOPA Rally
Sapa Yopa rally is considered to be the biggest Bike event in the Southern hemisphere of Africa organised by Black people. The event attracts bikers from neighboring countries such Lesotho, Swaziland , Zimbabwe and Namibia. Among other things, the objective of the rally is to gather goodies for orphanages and destitute homes in Limpopo Province
The club does not operate like other motorcyles club with Chapters , however it has members, who can trace their roots to Limpopo, from five provinces of South Africa namely: Limpopo Province, Mpumalanga Province, Gauteng Province, KwaZulu-Natal Province and Free State (province).
The club headquarters are in Polokwane, Limpopo Province.
